Carlos Valdez
Art Director
Passionate about art & design technology, Coco Valdez is an award-winning and globally-recognized Ecuadorian artist with innate skills in merging traditional art with technology solutions. With more than 25 years experience in art, design, content creation and conceptualization, Coco also brings innate skills for drawing, painting & sculpturing.
Invited to exhibit creations at the World Art Dubai Exhibition, Coco won the Outstanding Artist Award 2021, and then remained here to exhibit and work with Jumeirah Group on art and design concepts. Since joining Gallery One as the leader of the ‘Studios Team’, Coco has designed and developed artworks for some of the largest hotel brands, beginning each project from a ‘blank sheet of canvas’ or a very basic mood board. He is a natural at translating a client’s vision into decorative beauty, including stunning wall murals in one of Dubai’s most iconic themed commercial properties.
Serguey Insua
Senior Master Artist
Self-taught from an early age, Serguey enhanced this natural talent when he graduated from the San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts in 2009 and then with a Master’s in the Specialty of Painting from YETY-UNEAC. Serguey enjoys working in highly-pigmented acrylic and oil-based paints and regularly incorporates gold leaf, found papers, resin, oil pastels, enamel and the list goes on. He views the process of art-making as a birth-right, a testament of our fleeting existence, and an ethereal reverence to the unseen.
A passionate abstract expressionist painter, originally from Cuba, Serguey moved to the UAE after being invited to exhibit his artworks in both the Picasso Gallery Dubai and the 3W Gallery in Abu Dhabi.
Before exhibiting in the UAE, Serguey exhibited artworks at the Pelican Rose Exhibition in America, the National Gallery in Cuba and South America’s Mercadito Valdes Gallery.
